This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Infrastructure Team Leader who will be responsible for leading and developing the Infrastructure Team while ensuring the delivery of secure, resilient, and high-performing IT systems across the business. What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

As our IT Infrastructure Team Leader, you will lead and manage the performance, availability, security, and continuous improvement of Sigma's infrastructure estate. You will combine hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities to ensure exceptional service delivery whilst supporting the growth and development of your team.

You'll

• Coach, mentor and develop Infrastructure Team members through regular one-to-one meetings, performance management, workload allocation and continuous development planning.
• Ensure business-critical systems remain available, secure, highly performant and appropriately documented across the organisation.
• Support and administer Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, Intune, Conditional Access, Windows Server and Remote Desktop Services environments.
• Manage and develop Scale Computing and Hyper-V environments, including site-to-site replication and disaster recovery solutions.
• Oversee infrastructure upgrades, patching, hardware and software installations, backup solutions and change management activities.
• Monitor infrastructure capacity and performance, produce reporting metrics, and support future technology planning and investment decisions.
• Work closely with the IT Infrastructure Manager, IT Security Manager and wider IT leadership team to maintain security standards, compliance requirements and operational best practice.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, proactively identifying trends, mitigating recurring issues and implementing sustainable technical solutions.
• Act as an escalation point for the IT Service Desk and support business-wide technology projects and infrastructure enhancements.

Who We're Looking For

An IT Infrastructure Team Leader is a confident and technically capable leader who combines infrastructure expertise with exceptional people management skills. They lead by example, build strong relationships across the business and drive positive change through innovation, operational excellence and effective leadership.

You will be highly skilled in systems and network administration, have a strong understanding of Microsoft technologies, and be able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical delivery. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities, and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high service standards.

You will have experience developing high-performing teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering infrastructure solutions that support business growth and operational resilience.

You'll Ideally Bring

• Matric / Equivalent qualification (Essential).
• Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline (Desirable).
• Microsoft and/or Azure Certification, or equivalent commercial experience.  
• Previous experience leading and developing technical teams.
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Windows 11 and Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Intune and Conditional Access policies.
• Experience with Scale Computing and/or Hyper-V virtualisation platforms.  
• Strong systems and network administration experience.
• Good IP networking knowledge, preferably within Cisco environments.  
• Experience working alongside Information Security teams to meet compliance and certification requirements.
• Project management experience with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and consistently meet strict deadlines.
• Strong communication, delegation and stakeholder management skills.
• A customer-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Flexibility to participate in out-of-hours maintenance and support activities when required.
