What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

As our Financial Accountant, you'll play a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial records while supporting efficient financial reporting and controls across the business.

You'll:

• Support the Senior Accountant in managing the day-to-day Accounts Payable (AP) function
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including file roll-forwards
• Review the work of the Accounts Assistant to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Prepare and support reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, and associated schedules
• Manage weekly, mid-month, and month-end payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate supplier payments
• Review and process monthly credit card transactions in line with company policies
• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register
• Support external financial audits and ESOS audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requirements
• Assist with annual supplier and quarterly customer due diligence reviews
• Manage the expense process and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Support business purchasing activities, including consumables, software licences, and renewals through approved procurement platforms
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple cost centres
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and drive cost efficiencies across the finance function

Who We're Looking For

You're a detail-oriented finance professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. You thrive in a collaborative environment, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and are passionate about driving accuracy, improving processes, and delivering meaningful business impact through sound financial management.

You'll ideally bring:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience working within a finance or accounting function
• SAICA or SAIPA article experience would be advantageous and is considered highly desirable for this role.
• Experience using financial systems such as Sage and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• A strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
• Experience performing daily cash reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
• Experience raising sales invoices and supporting revenue-related processes
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy and completeness in all areas of financial reporting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and with key stakeholders
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues across the wider business
• A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo and identify opportunities for improvement
• A passion for streamlining processes, improving efficiencies, and enhancing financial controls
• The ability to balance commercial awareness with sound financial decision-making
• A positive, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
